Snuggle up

The Dayton Mall marketing staff was challenged with reaching shoppers during the annual five- week Magical Season of Giving holiday campaign, raising awareness of their "Snuggle Up" campaign and gaining shoppers’ involvement (in a more creative way than simply asking for cash donations). The goals established at the outset of the campaign was to raise awareness of the charity through social and broadcast media and to collect at least 500 pillows and blankets and $2,500 in monetary donations.

Shoppers donated over 1,000 new bedding items, and the two “Breakfast with Santa” events and the #daytonsnugglesup social media campaign raised over $3,000, while shoppers donated an additional $5,000. The total donations of 1,000+ items and $8,000+ doubled expectations for the campaign, more than doubled the previous largest gift in the organization’s history ($3,000), and will allow Snuggled Up to provide kits to hundreds of kids in need.

TVAA & TVAF Partnership with Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County

The Village at Allen & The Village at Fairview both wanted to rasie awareness for the Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County and the services they provided and to raise funds for these programs - and to do so on a very limited budget while utilizing our existing media and programs.  The partnership between CACCC and TVAA & TVAF has created awareness of both the problem of child abuse and neglect and CACCC and the programs they offer. The partnership has given the community a tangible way to help and respond. The partnership also raised $5,481.60 in cash donations to CACCC programs. In addition, the partnership has resulted in more than $10,000 in in-kind donations, more than 100 volunteer hours, more than 4,500,000 free media impressions and inclusion in more than $35,000 in on-site signage for CACCC, as well as resulted in the collection of nearly 1,000 toy/school supply items.

STRIVE ROCKS

For eight years, STRIVE’s largest annual fundraiser was STRIVE ROCKS Dance Marathon, an overnight event held at a local gym. Each year its goal was to increase funds raised by five percent. In 2012, The Maine Mall had just begun a search for a signature event for the local teen market when it learned that STRIVE’s event overhead was cutting into funds raised for their programs. From this mutual need, STRIVE ROCKS Weekend at The Maine Mall was born; a new mall-wide STRIVE Day for shoppers culminating with the traditional overnight dance marathon. The Maine Mall offered not only to host the overnight dance fundraiser but also contribute added value of event management, security, housekeeping, event collateral and equipment, and media support. The mall's campaign leveraged its assets and marketing expertise to increase the event’s attendance and fundraising potential with a mall-led awareness raising efforts for its neighbor that included in-mall signage about STRIVE programs and common area promotions where retailers could show their support for teens of all abilities. Prior to hosting its event at The Maine Mall, STRIVE’s most successful dance marathon had raised $45,000. In its two years at the mall, STRIVE has exceeded its program objectives of increasing funds raised by 5% annually and raised $57,000 and $73,000 respectively.

CAN-tree Collection

The CAN-tree Collection was a three-day grand opening celebration that sprouted and grew at The Collection at RiverPark, Friday-Sunday, December 7-9, benefiting FOOD Share. The event, with both corporate and community components, featured a display of 52 six-foot-tall trees constructed of 600-800 cans of food. The event centerpiece was a 10,000-can tree engineered and constructed by the Architecture Construction and Engineering Charter High School.

The CAN-tree Collection was able to inspire and rally the community, general and corporate alike to participate in a canned food drive that needed more participation than ever before because the need was so great.
