Craig S. White

Forest City Enterprises, Cleveland, has named Craig S. White general manager of Short Pump Town Center, Richmond, Va., the 1.3 million-square-foot open-air regional shopping center that is slated to open Sept. 4, (see story). Previously, White was vice president and general manager of The Rouse Co.’s open-air Harborplace, Baltimore, and before that he managed upscale malls in Palos Verdes, Calif., as well as in Australia, the country in which he was born.

The Mills Corp. has hired Elena Butorac-De Salvo as the general manager of its recently purchased Del Amo Fashion Center, Torrance, Calif., and Arlene Kaye as the center’s marketing director. Prior to joining The Mills, Butorac-De Salvo worked at The Macerich Co. Before Kaye’s employment by The Mills, she served as the director of marketing for the Buena Park Mall, a shopping center managed by the Festival Cos., and prior to that worked for Madison Marquette Retail Services. She has also worked for General Growth Properties, The O’Connor Group/WellsPark Group and Tracey Hall & Associates.

Prizm Asset Management, Reading, Pa., has appointed Arthur E. Levandoski director of marketing at The Mall at Steamtown, Scranton, Pa., a 564,000-square-foot regional center. He replaces Dawn Marie Lecklikner, who has accepted a general manager position at Lebanon (Pa.) Valley Mall.

Douette Pryce

BT Orlando named Steve Brinkman director of tourism marketing at its Festival Bay at International Drive, Orlando, Fla. Brinkman will serve as liaison between the retail-entertainment center and area hotels, tour operators and tourist attractions.

Stiles Development, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., appointed Jason Howe and Douette Pryce development manager and assistant development manager, respectively. Before joining Stiles, Howe was president of Fort Lauderdale-based Howe Real Estate Corp., a full-service development consulting firm.

David Newsome

Calabasas Hills, Calif.-based Westrust, an owner of neighborhood and community shopping centers, appointed David Newsome vice president of development. Newsome’s responsibilities will include overseeing development and redevelopment activities. Newsome was vice president of development at Center Trust before it was acquired by Pan Pacific Retail Properties, Vista, Calif., in January.

Architects Carter & Burgess, Fort Worth, Texas, promoted Phil Pryor to manager of the firm’s retail and distribution division. He joined Carter & Burgess in 1996, serving as national director of retail stores.

1031 Exchange Options, a Lafayette, Calif.-based firm for investors looking to complete 1031 exchange transactions, has hired Christian Mirner as vice president of real estate.

Regency Centers, Jacksonville, Fla., in February promoted Lisa Palmer to senior vice president of capital markets, Barry Argalas and Shawna Skinner to vice president of dispositions and transactions for the Southeast and Western regions, respectively, and Heidi Williams to vice president of investment services for the Central region.

Hedy Veverka

Pier 39 Limited Partnership, San Francisco, has hired Hedy Veverka as vice president of leasing for Pier 39, a retail and entertainment center on San Francisco Bay. Previously, Veverka was a leasing executive for The Taubman Co., and before that, a leasing representative for The Gymboree Corp., Burlingame, Calif.

Alan Esquenazi has joined Miami Beach-based Continental Real Estate Cos. as a partner. Esquenazi has more than 21 years’ experience in the South Florida commercial real estate market and was previously a senior vice president at Terranova Corp.
