The 136,000-square-foot Shops at Boardwalk, Kansas City, Mo., and the 172,000-square-foot, enclosed Regency Court, Omaha, Neb., are both slated to open on the 10th. In September RED unveiled the 400,000-square-foot Shoppes at Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove, Minn., about 16 miles northwest of Minneapolis, and the 325,000-square-foot Greenway Station, Middleton, Wis., about six miles west of Madison.

PINE TREE COMMERCIAL REALTY

Lake Bluff, Ill.-based Pine Tree Commercial Realty broke ground on phase three of its 470,000-square-foot Deer Trace Plaza, in Kohler, Wis., about 57 miles north of Milwaukee. A Target will anchor the project, which is set to open in the spring of 2004 and will measure 129,000 square feet. The first phase opened in the spring of 2001, with a Home Depot as anchor.

GENERAL GROWTH PROPERTIES

The facades and storefronts of the two-level, open-air Chula Vista (Calif.) Center will soon sport a new, Main Street look. General Growth Properties expects to complete renovations on the 884,880-square-foot center by year-end. The Chicago-based developer is also renovating the 305,000-square-foot Cache Valley Mall, Logan, Utah, with a new food court, flooring and outdoor facades. Dillard’s, Dillard’s Home and Men’s Store, and J.C. Penney anchor the center.

RAWSON, BLUM & LEON

The Mall of Orange (Calif.), about 30 miles southeast of Los Angeles, has been renamed The Village at Orange. In addition, the 822,350-square-foot center is undergoing a $57 million renovation that will expand it by 36,000 square feet. The project, to be completed this month, will bring in a Cost Plus World Market, a Linens ’n Things and some restaurants. Rawson, Blum & Leon owns Village at Orange, and Jones Lang LaSalle manages it.

CBL & ASSOCIATES

The Dillard’s in CBL & Associates’ 933,065-square-foot Northwoods Mall, North Charleston, S.C., will expand by 30,000 square feet as part of an overall renovation of the mall itself. Work is scheduled to begin in January. The mall’s upgrades will include new flooring, entrances and signage.

THE IRVINE CO.

The Irvine Co.’s 832,000-square-foot Irvine (Calif.) Spectrum is getting two new anchors: a 125,000-square-foot Nordstrom scheduled to open in late 2005 and a 135,000-square-foot Target opening in late 2006. The two will join current anchor Robinsons-May.
